在自然界，人类长期站在生物链的顶端，习惯了主宰和改造环境，而植物则始终处于被动和弱势的地位。然而，假如世界被颠倒，植物进化成为生态主宰，而人类需要适应植物制定的生存法则？项目以“换位思考”的方式构建了一个批判性叙事：在这个世界中，植物凭借高度敏锐的环境感知能力，能察觉周围温度、水分、化学成分的细微变化，并以粘液陷阱、毒雾、刺针等方式主动防御、甚至攻击入侵者。人类若要生存，必须借助 Veil Guard——一种能够调节微环境的特殊呼吸装置，它能吸收人体呼出的水蒸气，并稳定周围温度与湿度，以防止植物察觉人的存在。这个项目不仅是一场关于生存策略的思考实验，更是对现实世界环境破坏问题的隐喻。当人类需要战战兢兢地适应自然的“规则”，是否能真正意识到自己对环境的破坏？如果现实中的人们也尝试戴上 Veil Guard，体验这种谨小慎微的生存状态，他们是否会重新思考人与自然的关系？
In nature, humans have long stood at the top of the biological chain, accustomed to dominating and transforming their environment, while plants have always been passive and vulnerable. However, what if the world was turned upside down and plants evolved to become ecological masters, while humans would need to adapt to the laws of survival set by plants? The project builds a critical narrative by “thinking differently”: in this world, plants are highly sensitive to the environment, detecting subtle changes in temperature, moisture, and chemical composition, and actively defending themselves against, and even attacking, intruders with slime traps, poisonous mists, and stinging needles. If humans are to survive, they must use the Veil Guard, a special respiratory device that regulates the microenvironment, absorbing water vapor exhaled by the human body and stabilizing the surrounding temperature and humidity to prevent the plants from detecting the presence of humans. This project is not only a thought experiment on survival strategies, but also a metaphor for the real-world problem of environmental destruction. When humans have to adapt to the “rules” of nature with fear and trepidation, do they really realize the damage they are doing to the environment? If real people try to wear Veil Guard and experience this kind of cautious survival, will they rethink the relationship between human and nature?
